Hi there. We’re so glad that you’re interested in working with us. As a small studio, we’ve spent years cultivating a mindfulness and intention with all projects that we take on.
In order to make things easier for you and for us, we’ve put together a collection of questions, answers, and general information for our future friends and collaborators.
Getting in Touch
There are few things we love more than hearing an innovative idea for a product or a company—we created Young & Hungry to work with people like you to create beautiful, big-picture design solutions.
Many times our relationships start when someone reaches out to us with interest in a project, or to learn more about how we work. We love this! We’re a pretty casual crew, and inquiries are low-pressure.
For project-related inquiries, we’ll shoot over a link to our Project Inquiry form to learn a bit more about your idea and what you’re looking for from us. This gets us answers for important questions related to timeline, background, budget, and goals. When you’re wrapped up, we’ll set up a call to walk through things and become more familiar with your business, your project, and how we can help you build something amazing. It’s a lot of fun.
As we’ve stated before, we specifically work with newer companies, ideally focusing on validated product ideas or refining an already existing product or service. We’re inspired by companies that create services and products for social good, or who are taking a crack at evolving otherwise dated—but critical—sectors; education, marketing, healthcare, technology, etc.
Our ideal project (and what we thrive most in doing) is coming in early to help establish (or re-establish) a visual identity, and in-turn carry that design system through to the company website and digital products. Our process and output is rooted deeply in research, so each project is tailor-made to suit the company that commissions it.
We’re super-passionate about establishing friendships and long-term working relationships; we truly believe in this as a methodology to building better, longer lasting products.
Let’s Talk Money
Commonly the first question we’re asked is “What would this cost?” Our solutions aren’t one-size-fits-all and neither is our pricing. We don’t have a base project-cost, or a “ball park” range. However, if you are serious about pursuing a working relationship with us, we’d be happy to take you through our discovery process to provide you with a bespoke project proposal.
As a starting point, we generally don’t take on projects smaller than $10k.
This is all great, but how long will it take?
Oh yes, time. By now, you’d expect us to say something like “each project is different”—you know us so well! It’s reasonable to ask how long a project will take, however as parameters, features, and deliverables change, so does the time it takes to complete. Assuming client feedback is timely and thorough, our identity projects fall somewhere between two and three months, websites are usually between three and nine months, and user interface and user experience projects can take anywhere from two months to one year. Pauses in feedback and approval can and will extend the timeline.

Don’t know what you’re looking for? That’s okay! We work with a lot of companies to form a better understanding of their product and audience, in turn gaining a deeper insight into what design challenges should be addressed first.
